Description
Until recently, only the most expensive cassette decks were able to reproduce sound equal to the full range of human hearing.
But now, from Harman Kardon, comes the ultra wide band CD291 cassette deck that offers the tape recording enthusiast a full frequency response of 20Hz to 21kHz (+3dB) with any tape formulation.
The CD291 offers Dolby HX Professional, a headroom extension system that extends frequency response at high recording levels, while significantly reducing distortion. Added to this is a signal to noise ratio with Dolby C of 72dB.
The combined benefits of these two performance features allow for accurate recording of more dynamic audio signals than was previously possible. This is especially significant as more demanding forms of software, such as digital audio, become available.
Also offered on the CD291 are features rarely found in a deck of its category. Such as: Sendust record/playback head for dependable performance at high record levels; memory tape counter; and record mute, which gives silent passages between selections.
There is also sophisticated record and playback circuitry for open, transparent sound; Solenoid Transport for smooth operation; auto repeat, which automatically rewinds and plays the tape; and bias fine trim, a feature that maximizes high end performance and minimizes distortion.
